Around the UK - Scotland
In Scotland, we are committed to working in partnership with employers and Scottish key stakeholders to address the IT, Telecoms and Contact Centres skills issues that will have the most significant impact on the success of the Scottish economy.

Scottish Employers Forum
The forum is e-skills UK mechanism for interfacing employers with government in Scotland. Its purpose is to:

unite employers, educators and government on a common employer-led skills agenda for action in Scotland
-
influence Government funding agencies on skills related issues
-
represent the educational needs and skills development needs of employers.
The forum currently comprises company representatives from IT, telecoms, and those that have a specific interest in IT user skills and can represent the breadth of interest in other sector - they are BT, eCom Scotland, Fife Council, Graduates for Growth, IBM, IndigoVision, Litscreens, Logica, Microsoft, Napier University, Oracle, NetResources, Scottish Enterprise, Sopra Newell and Budge, Student Loans Company, and The Scottish Government.
Background information
Our action in Scotland is guided by the SSA for IT Action Plan for Scotland which was created and published in Sep 05 to unite employers, educators and government on a common agenda for change. The plan is based on the findings of a major research report carried out with Gartner, IT Insights: Skills Gap Analysis - Scotland.
