New Entrepreneur Scholarships programme
The NES programme (www.nesprogramme.org) helps people from disadvantaged backgrounds start in business where they otherwise would be unable to.
The ITQ and the e-skills Passport are now part of this course which has been introduced nationally to all NES scholars and is supported by the Learning and Skills Council, who are keen to see it take off.
NES is closely targeted to the needs of individual scholars. Angela Surridge, NES Project Manager, said,
“The ITQ offers our NES scholars IT user training tailored to their specific requirements for their proposed business. Using the e-skills Passport enables scholars to make a clear assessment of their current skills and a logical path towards achieving their current aims. It lays the foundation for continued learning that matches their changing needs.”
The NES programme is utilising the e-skills Passport to get regional reports on IT user skills, they have set NES scholars an ITQ profile which they can compare their IT user skills too and gain the essential IT user skills required to start up business.
